Errands

Today has been a full day of errands. It's also been a day where Mommy has had me practice going down for naps without being swaddled. So far one nap worked and one didn't. We'll see what tomorrow brings!

Dedication

This weekend was very special for me. I was dedicated. Mommy and Daddy had a little service and party at our house with our family and some friends from our church. It was really fun. I loved getting all dressed up. Both of my grandpas played a special role in the service. My grandpa John read some special versus for me and my Poppa said a few prayers for me. We took lots of pictures. Check 'em out!
Don't I look so cute in this dress.
I especially loved to play with the ribbons down the front!
I'm such a lucky girl.
My great-grandma and two of my great-grandpas were there.

Our close friend, Joe McDonald, did the service.
He's a pastor at our church.

This is a picture of my grandpa who read scripture.
He read Psalm 139: 1-18.
Then he read a special verse that Mommy and Daddy picked out just for me:
Psalm 25:4-5

Show me your ways, O LORD,
teach me your paths;

guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.

Then, Mr. Joe anointed me with oil!

Next, Poppa read a special prayer that Mommy and Daddy picked out for me.
The Prayer of St. Francis
(Mommy and Daddy added my name into it)
Lord, make Abby an instrument of Thy peace;
where there is hatred, let her sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that Abby may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that she'll receive,
it is in pardoning that she is pardoned,
and it is in dying that she will be born to Eternal Life.
After that prayer, Poppa said a prayer of his own.
It was so special what he said (some people even had tears).
When his prayer was done, everyone gathered around us and read some scripture together as a community prayer. It was Ephesians 3:14-21!

Even my new friends, Lila and Ellen were able to come.
They are only 10 days old
Lila and I were wearing the same bow!

This is my Daddy's side of the family that came!

My cousins weren't able to come, they were napping!

My new friend

Today I got to go and hang out with my new friend, Lila. She was born last week. She's so cute and so small. I love looking at her. She makes me smile. I can't wait until she and I can hang out again. Mommy said we can go on walks, play with toys, and maybe hang out by the pool. I just know that we're going to be good friends.
My friend, Claire, was at Lila's house too.
I was watching her closely as she crawled around.
I want to crawl and move around so badly!

Weekend

What another fun weekend at Sugar Lake. The action never stops there. Mommy, Daddy and I went there Friday night. On Saturday it was pretty cold, sunny but windy, so we didn't go on the boat again. Instead, I got to play with my cousins. They make me smile. I love to just sit in the big chair and watch all that goes on around me. We came home Saturday night and had a BBQ at my friend, Isabella's house. On Sunday, Daddy worked in the yard and Mommy and I went on a walk. It was beautiful outside!!! Oh and guess what...I'm starting to sleep without my swaddle. I do really well at night, but not so well for naps during the day. I'll get there!

My cousins liked climbing up on the chair with me.
At first I wasn't too sure about it but then I liked it.

Look at the big fish that was caught!!
It's too bad I slept through all the excitement.
Hopefully next time I can see it up close and touch it!

After all the fun we had, the weekend came to an end which meant...bath time. :)
