Sitting Up

I've been practicing sitting up every day and I'm doing a pretty good job. Mommy took some videos to show you. Take a look. I'm almost there. Soon I won't need a boppy around me.

Good News

Just as mommy suspected...I DON'T have seizures! The doctor called this morning and I have Benign Infant Shutters. He said its just something I'll have to grow out of as my nervous system grows and develops. I'm so glad that its confirmed! YAY!! Thanks for all your prayers!

EEG

I'm home and all done with my EEG. Mommy and I got there around 8:30 in the morning. A very nice man took us into a room and hooked me up to 30 wires. I had 27 on my head, two on my chest and one around my stomach. Once all the wires were attached, he wrapped my head up so I wouldn't try to pull them out. Then mommy and I just played. Daddy was able to come a little bit later and play with us. He brought me a little teddy bear, "Brownie," to help me get through the day. He is so soft. Thanks Daddy!! I love you!

Within the first hour, I had a few twitches. Then I tried to take a nap but it was so hard to sleep with so many wires attached to me. After my short nap, we played some more and I had a few more twitches. I'm so glad that all my twitches were marked (mommy had to push a button every time I had one to mark it on the computer). I took another little nap in mommy's arms and when I got up I was able to go home. The wires were all taken off of me and then daddy gave me a bath to get all the goop off my head used to stick on the electrodes. We left the doctor's office at 2:30.

Now, we just wait for the doctor to call with the results. I promise to let you know as soon as I hear something. Thanks for all your prayers today!

Tuesday

My video EEG just got scheduled for Tuesday morning. Mommy and I will go in to the doctor's office and I'll get hooked up to some wires and then we'll play there for six hours or until I have some twitches. Please pray that I have some twitches so that they can be videotaped and documented on the EEG. Thanks so much!

7 Months

I'm SEVEN months old today! Yippee!!! I'm getting so big. Today mommy and I have had so much fun. First she promised to take me to my favorite store (Babies R Us). She got me a new swaddle (one that's not fleece). Then we came home and went for a walk and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine. Then, best of all, mommy painted my toes. I've been begging her to do that. I wanted to be like her and have pretty toes just like mommy. What a fun little birthday treat! After my nap this afternoon I get to go on another walk with one of mommy's friends and then to top it all off, I get to go out for pizza with mommy, daddy, grammy, poppa, uncle Peter and my three cousins (they go out for pizza every Friday and today we get to join them)! This is such a great day! I love birthdays!

Update

I'm back from my appointment. That was an easy one. Mommy and the doctor talked for a few minutes and she told him all about what I do. Then the doctor did a quick examination and that was it. He said it could be one of two things: (1) Benine Infant Shutters (that's what Mommy thinks it is) or (2) Seizures. So he told mommy she should bring me back in again for a six hour video observation and during that six hours they will attach some things to my head and watch my brain. The nurse has to call mommy to schedule that so I'm not sure when I have to go in for that test. Mommy said the things they put on my head won't hurt. She said we'll just go in and play at the doctors office for six hours and probably take a nap there.

So, no new news, just another test. Thanks everyone for all your thoughts and prayers. I'll let you know when my brain test will be! Enjoy the beautiful weather, I am. Mommy and I are going on LOTS of walks! We've met lots of fun people each time we walk. I love it.

Thursday

Mommy made me an appointment to see a neurologist Thursday morning at 8:30am for my twitches. I'll let you know what the doctor says. Thanks again for praying for me!

Prayer Request

Please say a little prayer for me. For the past couple of weeks I've had a little twitch (it looks like I'm shivering). Mommy took me to the doctor about a week ago and the doctor was pretty sure that they were little muscle jerks that can happen while babies grow and develop. However, the other part of her thought they could be seizures. Mommy wasn't too worried and neither was the doctor so we left the doctor's office. The doctor did ask mommy to chart everytime I do it and to try some different things while I'm twitching and to call her in a week. Well...this last week I've been doing it more often and I've been pretty fussy and not sleeping very well at night. Please pray that these twitches stop. I don't know why I do these strange things, but I really don't want to go to another doctor. I just want to be a baby and have fun playing with Mommy. Thanks for praying! I'll keep you posted!

I DID IT!!!!

I ROLLED OVER!!! I have been working so hard at rolling over and I've been so close for about a month. I lay on my back and I bring my shoulders over and stuff my face into the ground but I just couldn't get my legs to swing over. BUT, I finally did it. This has been quite a day. I got to go on a walk with Isabella and her mommy. Then I met Poppa and Uncle Peter for lunch. Next I came home and I didn't want to go to bed. So, mommy and I played outside for a little bit (its absolutely gorgeous out). Finally mommy said it was time for me to try to nap again. Just as she was about to swaddle me up for my nap, I rolled over. It was so much fun. Mommy was so excited that I couldn't stop giggling at her and all her jumping up and down. She's so silly!!

Isabella

What a day I had yesterday. My friend Isabella came over and spent the whole day with us. First we played with some of her toys, then we had a snack, next we went for a walk to the park, then we played at the park (Isabella showed me how to go down the slides), when we got home we had lunch, took naps, played in the backyard, played with bubbles, and then she went home. It was so much fun to have a friend over all day long. I'm so excited that she gets to come over every Wednesday. I am learning how to share Mommy, its hard but I think I can do it!

Beautiful Day

Wow...yesterday was so nice outside. Mommy and I spent lots of time enjoying the sun. After my short morning nap, mommy and I went to my cousins house and then we went to look for some shoes for me. Then we came home and I took a long early afternoon nap (I haven't been sleeping very well lately). When I got up, Mommy and I ate outside, we took a walk and then we went out for dinner. I LOVE being outside. The wind makes me giggle...its so fun. Today my friend Isabella is coming over for the whole day. Mommy said she'll be coming over every Wednesday while her Mommy works. I'm excited!!

Easter

Yesterday was a very fun day. It all began with some time with Mommy right away in the morning. We had breakfast together and then we snuck in and woke up Daddy. I wore my bunny ears. Daddy thought I was super cute. Then, daddy and I went on an Easter Egg hunt. There were four eggs hidden in our house that spelled out my name. Daddy and I had a lot of fun trying to find them.

After the hunt, I took a nap. When I woke up, mommy got me all dressed up and we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house. There were LOTS of people there. My grammy and Poppa were there too so I was surrounded by both sets of grandparents. What a lucky girl I am. After playing with all my grandparents, aunt, great aunts and uncles, great-grandparents, and more I was ready for another nap. By the time I woke up it was time to go to church. I went to the nursery and guess what...I made it the whole time without mommy having to come rescue me. It was quite the fun day! I like Easter!

Good Friday

Mommy told me that today is a very special day. Today is called "Good Friday!" She told me that today we remember Jesus and when he died on the cross for our sins. I asked her why they call it good because Jesus dying doesn't sound very good. She said that we can call it good now because we know that Jesus rises from the dead on Sunday. I'm going to hear more about the story on Sunday. I can't wait, I like stories, especially ones with happy endings. AND I really like hearing about Jesus. Mommy says He loves me more than she and daddy. WOW..that's crazy because mommy and daddy love me A LOT!!!

My Grammy and Poppa came over last night while I was sleeping and brought me an Easter present. They got me some books. One of them is the Easter story. Mommy and I have already read it twice. I like it a lot!

This afternoon, mommy and daddy and I all went to church. I lasted about 45minutes and then I needed mommy. It was nap time and I wanted to go home. Mommy came quickly and we walked around and sang songs. Then, we went and played with Isabella in the nursery. She always makes me smile! Finally, Daddy took me home. Hopefully soon I can stay in the nursery the whole time. I do like church especially when everyone says I look really cute. What do you think?

TWO fun surprises

Yesterday when I woke up from my nap I was so excited to see my grandma B smiling down at me. What a FUN surprise! She got me up, fed me my cereal (I love showing her how big I am and all the things I can do, like eat cereal), gave me my bottle and played with me. She also gave me an Easter present, my very own snuggly Easter bunny. I'll take a picture of it today so you can see it. It's SO CUTE! Isn't my grandma B the best!!

SURPRISE...its Grandma!

After my afternoon nap, I was surprised again to see Daddy. He's not normally home at that time. He took me for a little walk around the backyard and told me all about his plans for the yard this summer. Then, mommy and daddy and I met my Grammy and Poppa and three cousins for dinner. When I got home from that I went for a walk around the block with mommy and daddy, ate some squash, had my bottle and went to bed. What a day!!

In Day

Yesterday mommy and I stayed in. We just lounged around the house, did laundry, took naps and played. Daddy had to work late so mommy and I made a video of us playing. Unfortunately the camera tipped so you can't see my face, but you can at least hear the fun we're having! Check it out.

Shopping

Yesterday mommy took me to the Eden Prairie Mall to meet some friends. It was a lot of fun. We walked around the mall and had lunch. Then, last night we had some other friends over to watch the Twins Home Opener and the final basketball game. The best part was when we got to see mommy's friend, Sara, sing the National Anthem at the Twins Game on TV. She was amazing!! Unfortunately I had to go to bed before the party was over but I was exhausted. I didn't make it through the night because I broke out of my swaddle. Hopefully that won't happen again tonight!

Whimpers

Yesterday mommy and daddy and I went to Target to get our groceries for the week. Then, we went to church again last night. I went to the nursery for the second time. I did pretty well. I didn't cry when daddy dropped me off but about 45 minutes later I started whimpering. I was just feeling sad because I missed mommy and daddy. The helpers just weren't able to make me happy so they had to page mommy. She came right away and as soon as I saw her I smiled and was really happy. I stopped whimpering and she took me into big church with her. I was as quiet as a mouse so I got to hear the rest of the sermon and sing songs. It was fun. But, mommy said that next week I'll have to stay the whole time like I did the first week!! We'll see...

Quiet Saturday

After a busy week, mommy and I decided to have a quiet Saturday. We just stayed home all day and played, sang songs, and took naps. Daddy had to work all day but when he got home, he fed me carrots for the first time. I think I like them but I'm not quite sure yet. One things for sure, they were VERY messy. I think I like my food a little thicker. Mommy said that she'll fix that for next time!

The Energizer Bunny

Mommy says we're like the energizer bunny...we keep going and going and going. Yesterday Mommy took me up to her school to meet all her students and the other teachers. It was a lot of fun but a little overwhelming. Everyone wanted to hold me and touch me. I think I must have seen at least 100 new faces. The best part of the day though was when mommy and daddy took me to Grandma and Grandpa's. We played a lot and I showed Grandma how close I am to rolling over. I've almost got it. Grandma put me to bed at her house until mommy and daddy came to get me. I wasn't very happy when they woke me up but I still managed to sleep the whole night again. I wonder what mommy has in store for me today!

Another Fun Day

Yesterday Mommy's friend, Sarah M, came over with her son Oscar. I can't believe how much bigger Oscar has gotten since our last play date. Oscar is 3 months older than I am. We all went for a walk outside. I LOVED it! It's so nice to be out and get fresh air. Miss Sarah took lots of fun pictures of me. She's really good at that. She said she wants me to come over and have a little photo shoot. I can't wait.

Last night, mommy and daddy and I went out for dinner with Grammy and Poppa. We went to the Mall of America. WOW...that place is huge. Mommy said she'd take me back soon to walk around some more. When I got home, I had a quick bath, ate and went to bed. AND I of course slept through the night again! I'm getting so good at that!

My Great Grandma Irene

Yesterday was another fun day (cold and snowy, but fun). Mommy, Grammy and I went to see my Great-Grandma at her nursing home. I had never met her before since I wasn't able to go out. But, now that cold and flu season are over, I got to meet her. She's wonderful!! She kept saying that I look like my uncle Peter. Mommy and Grammy don't think so, they think I look like my daddy!
After visiting my Great-Grandma I got to go to Southdale Mall to quick say hi to my cousins and then to try on some shoes. I think I'm going to like shopping! After the mall, mommy took me back to Grammy's house to take a nap. Then, Poppa came home and we all went out for dinner. I like going out to eat, there are so many new things to look at.
By the time I got home, I was exhausted. Mommy said I could skip peas and so I just had my bottle and crashed! Guess what...I slept through the night again (But I did get up a little earlier than I usually do), from 8pm-6am! Oh and I almost forgot...mommy and I didn't get a chance to play a trick on daddy for April Fools! Oh well, there's always next year!

Rocky days

The last few days have been a little rocky. After my busy day on Sunday, I had a really hard time sleeping that night and so I was "crabby Abby" (that's what daddy calls it) on Monday. I didn't take my normal long naps. I did however get to try peas for the first time and I really liked them. Monday night I didn't sleep well either and I woke up pretty early Tuesday morning. So Mommy said we were going to stay in all day to try and get me back on schedule. It worked!! I took two great naps and had a wonderful, happy day. The only thing that wasn't so happy was when I had to have peas again. For some reason they didn't taste as good the second day (but that happened with my green beans and by day three I liked them again...there's something with day two of a new food). Hopefully they'll taste better tonight!
Oh I almost forgot to tell you...I slept through the night last night (almost 11 hours)! Mommy and daddy were so proud. They've been wondering when I was going to do that. I was going through a little phase where I was waking up more often. Hopefully I'm out of that phase and will sleep through the night again tonight. I'll keep you posted!
Happy April Fools Day! Mommy and I are trying to think of a trick to play on daddy...we'll let you know what we do! Shhhh!!
