If it's not one thing, it's another!

Well it's been quite the past couple of days. I'm sorry for my delay in writing but I have been sick. You wouldn't know it by my expressions, but you would if you were mommy and daddy. It all started when I threw up all my food Saturday morning. Then all day Saturday I wasn't very interested in eating anything. Mommy thought it was bizarre but I didn't have a fever and I was still as happy as can be.

Sunday came around and same thing...threw up in the morning and didn't want to eat the rest of the day. Mommy knew there was something up but wasn't quite sure what. But of course, I was still a happy little camper. That night, Mommy was talking to a friend of her's and discovered that her daughter had caught a bacteria from their dog and guess what...we dog sat for that dog a couple weeks ago. That night I started having diarrhea and so Mommy called the nurses line. Sure enough...I caught the same bacteria.

So Monday morning I went to the doctor. They made sure I wasn't dehydrated, which I wasn't and they sent me home with some stool sample containers (Daddy and Mommy's least favorite thing - sorry). If you've ever done them before you know that they are not fun and can be quite difficult because diapers are designed to absorb not repel.

OK to make a long story short. I have been diagnosed with this bacteria and just have to wait a week for it to pass. Mommy and daddy have to feed me as often as they can to make sure I don't get dehydrated. Can you believe it??? It doesn't seem to end. Can't I just be a normal little baby girl?!? The doctor says I just like to keep everyone on their toes. I'm not so sure!

Oh yeah...I forgot to mention, I can sit up now and play with toys.
I love it!

  1. Meredith - your daughter is so cute I can hardly stand it! It's amazing how diarrhea, throwing up, fevers (or lack thereof), sleepless nights and other yucky stuff become so normal.

  2. No, I shouldn't have said normal. It's never normal and is always concerning - maybe a better word would have been, par for the course! I guess I'm surprised at how not surprised and not disgusted I am when these things happen. I guess God gives us what we need to be nurturing moms through the rough patches!
